Note: Arnold of Lubeck in his Chronica Slavorum describes a meeting with Sultan Qilij Arslan II, who kissed Heinrich the Lion of Bavaria declaring him blood cousin. Based on his description, (at least) two theories exist to show a connection, via Russia, from German nobility to these ancient Turks. In one theory, Kilikia of KIEV was the grandmother of Sultan Masud I. In another theory, Masud's wife, perhaps Rusudan Dmitrovna, was the connection.
